New International Textbook on Male Sexual Dysfunction Published by Springer Nature (2026)

Professor Hyun Jun Park (President of ASMHA, Professor of department of Urology, Pusan National University Hospital; Director, Biomedical Research Institute) has contributed as a co-editor and author to a newly published international textbook in the field of sexual medicine, Diagnosis and Treatment of Male Sexual Dysfunction: Controversies, Advances and Future Developments, released by Springer Nature.

The textbook provides comprehensive, evidence-based guidance on sexual dysfunctionaffecting more than 1.1 billion men worldwideranging from core anatomical and physiological principles to the latest regenerative therapies and surgical approaches. Notably, leading experts affiliated with the Global Andrology Forum (GAF) participated extensively, offering clinically applicable recommendations and practical guidance for real-world patient care.

Professor Park was appointed as a Co-Editor, together with Professor Ashok Agarwal (USA), and played a key role in shaping the overall concept and editorial direction of the book. He also served as the lead author of the chapter “Management of Testosterone Deficiency Syndrome,” detailing current evidence and clinical considerations for the management of late-onset hypogonadism and testosterone deficiency.

Across 15 chapters, the book covers the full spectrum of male sexual medicine, including the epidemiology and diagnostic workup of erectile dysfunction, emerging regenerative therapies such as low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy (Li-ESWT) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, as well as Peyronie’s disease, premature ejaculation, ejaculatory disorders, and other key conditions.

Professor Park noted, “Despite the significant impact of male sexual dysfunction on quality of life and psychological well-being, management has too often relied on simplified medication-based approaches. I hope this book will serve as a scientific and systematic standard reference to support personalized, patient-centered care for clinicians and researchers worldwide.”

Professor Park currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the World Journal of Men’s Health (WJMH) and President of the Asian Society for Men’s Health and Aging (ASMHA). He also assumed office in January as Director of the Biomedical Research Institute at Pusan National University Hospital, continuing his leadership in advancing men’s health and medical research both in Korea and internationally.
